My Art Style Tutorial by PhuiJL My Art Style Tutorial by PhuiJL
EDIT: I forgot to mention that I always use "E" (Eraser tool) & "B" (Brush tool) on the keyboard to switch the tool, that's why I always finish my works fast :D

And one more thing, no one ever teach me how to use this program, I learn to use it all by myself. ;P I'm sure you all can do better than me since most of you take art class ^^;

I can't believe lots of ppl still look at my old tutorial (2009) I decided to make a new one about my recent art style including my chibi style ^____^;

And again, plz ignore the crazy doodles ^^; They're my OCs if you're wondering, drawing them doing random stuff is really fun :D

Hi, I'm new to drawing, and I'd really appreciate it if you could give me some pointers or tips on how to draw the "sketch" part of the chibi picture? Whenever I try to draw something like that, I end up with a horibble pictures, I think my hand is to spazzy to draw things like that. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I always lower the opacity of the layer for the sketch part, and my sketch is usually messy, I often scribble messily then go into the detailed part/outlining ^____^; I'm not sure how to help you with that, everyone has different chibi style ;^;

Umm, just a question, how did you make the lines so PEFRECT? Did you use the "Click+Shift+Click" Trick?

Perfect? I don't think my lines perfect ^^; When I mess up the line, I will click "E" for the eraser tool to erase the ugly part, then I click "B" for the brush tool to draw the line again :XD:

And about the "Click+Shift+Click" Trick, I only use that for straight line ;P

Can't remember the site. I only remembered I googled it, downloaded it for free trial, looked for the patch, entered serial numbers, & BAM! The photoshop I'm using now is free forever O_____O;

I love it! Very, very helpful! ^_^
I'm still a bit confused on how the "lock" tool works. I'm sorry to be a bother, but, do you think you could explain it to me?

Ok, I'll try :D

Example: If you finish colouring a face of a character, but when you want to add the shadow part for the face, you don't want the colour go out of place. If you lock the face layer, then add some shadow colour, it won't go anywhere(like to the hair or cloth), just the face part... I sure hope you can understand, I suck at explaining DX

really hard to believe you're using only brush tool...

Wouldn't you go astray without using pen tool (especially without using tablet)?

I always use brush tool, I don't even know how to use pen tool ^^;

Hmmm... I don't think so? XD I used a tablet once in one of my close friends' house. It's kinda hard to use @___@
